The PUSH & PULL DISTORTION gets a special Custom Illustrated treatment from artist Tayumeru, giving one of our favorite rock distortion circuits a completely new look.
Think late 70s and early 80s rock. Turn up a vintage British style amp, push it hard, and you get that thick, aggressive, singing distortion guitarists have been chasing for decades. The so called “brown sound” became one of the defining guitar tones of the era, and the PUSH & PULL DISTORTION puts that character into a compact pedal that is easy to live with.
Plug it into a clean amp and the personality arrives immediately. There is plenty of thickness and edge, but the sound remains lively and playable. Roll into a chord and you get rich, muscular distortion. Dig into a single note and it hangs on with singing sustain.
This is especially good territory for legato playing, tapping, bends and fast alternate picking. Even when you start pushing the gain, the notes stay alive and individual voices in a chord remain clear. It has enough attitude for hard rock, but enough touch and response to follow the way you actually play.
The PUSH & PULL DISTORTION is also more flexible than its name might suggest. Turn down the DRIVE, bring up the LEVEL and it can work as a powerful booster in front of an amp, adding some extra muscle and pushing the front end into its own sweet spot. Not just gain, but feel.
The result is a pedal with a very particular mission. Big British inspired distortion, thick brown sound character and plenty of room for your own hands to shape the final tone.
